Tim Abrams – Awards and Judging Sub-Committee

  • Director, Abrams Mediation
  • Joined the EIB Committee in 2009.
  • Tim is an experienced Human Resources mediator, having experience representing employers and employees as adviser and advocate. Tim has extensive experience working on, and with, Council Committees, having previously sat on the Orange Blossom Festival Committee. Tim’s skills include acting as meeting chair, addressing public forums, team building, strategic planning, organisation and commitment to community.

Simon File – Treasurer

  • Joined the EIB Committee in 2007.
  • Simon is a chartered accountant who brings a sense of order to the EIB finances. Simon became involved in EIB as a way of supporting the local business community.

Linda Taylor Burton – Awards and Judging Sub-Committee, Head Judge, Mentor, Marketing Sub-Committee

  • Director, D.F. Burton Enterprises
  • Joined the EIB Committee in 2009, but participated as a judge
  • With a fashion and education background, Linda commenced her relationship with EIB as an award entrant and winner during her time as founder of the Australian College of Interior Décor, and her current involvement with the program confirms her commitment towards nurturing and sustaining excellence in business practice within our Shire, something she is very passionate about.

John Glover – Deputy Chairperson, Sponsorship Sub-Committee, Marketing Sub-Committee

  • CEO, Pendragon Employment Solutions
  • Joined EIB in 2009
  • John has been involved in committees throughout his entire career and is currently an executive for the 4th year running in the Jeans for Genes organisation. John is a passionate philanthroper, especially gifted in rallying support and funds for a cause. John joined the EIB Committee simply because he wanted to assist the local business community to organise the local business awards.

Shirley Childs – Awards and Judging Sub-Committees

  • Managing Director, Childs Corporation Australia
  • Founding EIB Committee member, re-joining the committee in 2009
  • Shirley grew a successful manufacturing business in Malaysia prior to moving to Australia, and now uses her skills as a Business Consultant/Mentor to small businesses, multi-nationals and government. She was one of the original members of EIB and a pioneer of the mentoring programme. Her return to the EIB committee this year confirms her commitment towards the continuing growth and sustainable success of small businesses and provides the current committee with a valuable repository of EIB history and knowledge.

Nicole Baines – Secretary

  • Business Development Officer, Sydney Hills Business Chamber
  • Joined the EIB Committee in 2007
  • Nicole has a background in corporate operations management, small business consulting and professional development training for businesses across all industries. Nicole brings strength in administration, meeting management and compliance to the EIB Committee, which she joined because of her belief that the EIB Business Awards were the local business awards with the highest level of integrity in the Sydney Hills.

Tony Dingle – Chairman

Owner, Opticlicks

Joined the EIB Committee in 2004

Tony has a background in corporate sales management and now as the owner of Opticlicks assists businesses grow by managing their Google Adwords Campaigns.

When Tony joined the EIB Committee in 2004 his role was to oversee the building of the EIB new e Commerce website. Tony joined the EIB committee to assist build the EIB Awards and Mentoring Program, which help build, encourage and promote local businesses.

In 2008 Tony served as the EIB Deputy Chairperson.

Jim Taggart – Sponsorship Committee

  • Managing Director, The Taggart Group
  • After a background in Teacher and Deputy Principal of a Catholic High School Jim entered the financial services in industry1987 and his successful businesses Taggart Nominees and The Taggart Group Pty Ltd specialize in Insurance Brokering, Life Insurance, Risk insurance, Superannuation and Financial Planning and services over 6,000 clients. Besides a Masters of Commerce, Dip of Teaching; Bachelor/Master of Arts and completing a Doctorate in Bus. Admin, Jim is a Certified Financial Planner and holds a QPIB Qualification of General Insurance and in 2005 was awarded the 2005 Zurich /AFA Adviser of the Year.
  • An active community supporter of the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, Local Chambers of Commerce, Chairman for the Sydney 2000 Olympics Fundraising Committee and past Chairman of the Board for TAFE – Western Sydney District, and of Cumberland Industries Pty Ltd, Jim was also awarded in 2006 the Hills Shire Australia Day Award for Community Service. Currently President of the Association of Financial Advisers for Australia and a serving Committee member of the EIB Awards since its inception, Jim is a committed member of the Excellence in Business Awards.

Melanie Morson – Events, Marketing Sub-Committee Head

  • Group Marketing Manager, Castle Hill RSL
  • Joined EIB Committee in 2009
  • Melanie Morson is the Group Marketing Manager for Castle Hill RSL Group – driving the business development, public relations and marketing membership for Castle Hill RSL, Parramatta RSL and C2K Fitness and Aquatic Centre. Melanie has worked in marketing and business develop management roles across leading venues across NSW for the last 12 years. Melanie holds a Masters in Management and a BA Arts (Management).
